The state of Virginia has asked the Supreme Court to go ahead and remove alleged non-citizens from the state's voter rolls. This would remove more than 16-hundred voters. State officials say the voters are non-citizens. The Justice Department has requested a district judge to reinstate those voters because their removals happened too close to an election, violating federal law. The state is now asking for emergency relief from that court decision.
