Loudoun County Animal Services is hoping to spur pet adoptions with a special event this weekend. The shelter is waiving adoption fees on Saturday and Sunday. The Navy is cutting the length of bootcamp by a week as recruiting improves. Basic training will be cut from ten weeks to nine weeks starting in 2025. The Navy tells Military.com it's a restructure of the program to cut out inefficiencies as recruiting improves and more recruits come through boot camp. The navy says they met their recruiting goals in 2024 for the first time in years and they expect recruiting numbers to remain high in the near future.
