The suspect in the murder of Greensboro Officer Michael Horan, Tarell Isaac McMillian, is set to appear in court today, according to Guilford County inmate search records. McMillian, 34, faces first-degree murder charges and was denied bond, along with other charges related to a vehicle pursuit. Additional charges are pending after the shooting at a Food Lion on Dec. 23, where Officer Horan was fatally shot while responding to a call. WFMY news 2 reports that the suspect was apprehended after a high-speed chase and is scheduled for another hearing in 2025.
A trailer fire in Bedford County on Gunstock Creek Road was quickly extinguished by firefighters with no reported injuries. The fire, which was reported at 5:37 p.m., caused flames to be visible from the front and side of the house. WDBJ reports that the incident is currently under investigation by the Bedford County Fire Marshal’s Office.
