Investigators are looking into the death of an inmate at the Norfolk City Jail. The Norfolk Sheriff's Office says 39-year-old Sterling Lee Lyons the Second collapsed in his cell yesterday morning. He died after he was taken to the hospital. Foul play is not suspected in his death.
Officials with the Maryland Transportation Authority are scheduled to unveil the new design for the rebuild of the Francis Scott Key Bridge today. The design concept will be displayed at a news conference at Tradepoint Atlantic.
The average human brain could contain a spoonful of microplastics. A new study published Monday in the journal Nature Medicine found that there was about seven grams in the average brain, about as much as you'd find in a plastic disposable spoon. The amount of plastic in brains increased dramatically between 2016 and 2024. Livers and kidneys also showed increases, but the concentrations in brains was 30 times greater. People with dementia had the highest levels.
