Fairfax County leaders are thinking about adding a food and beverage tax to help chip away at a budget deficit. The tax would apply to drinks and food you consume at restaurants and bars but not groceries. Bean counters say a one-percent tax would generate about 35-million-bucks in revenue every year, but there's talk about setting the tax rate at four or five percent.  
 
 
A Virginia man may have given his wife the best birthday present ever. Patrick Lash says he purchased a ticket for the January 13th Powerball drawing at a Fredericksburg Wegmans store. The ticket matched the first five numbers drawn, winning one-million dollars. Lash told Virginia Lottery officials that he waited one day to tell his wife so the news would come on her birthday. The retired couple plans to use the money to buy a home closer to their daughter.
