An inclement weather shelter in Richmond is closing. The city announced yesterday the Salvation Army's shelter on Chamberlayne Ave is closing at 8:00 this morning for seven months. Homeless Services Liaison Dianne Wilmore says the shelter served 360 residents in need per month for over 150 days. She adds ensuring our most vulnerable have a place to stay in times of crisis is not only a responsibility but a reflection of our community's compassion and commitment to one another.
