A Virginia state senator is on the mend after having surgery for uterine cancer. State Senator Barbara Favola says she had a hysterectomy last Friday at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington. Favola said the operation was successful, though she will likely need some chemotherapy in the future. Favola has served in the state senate since 2012.
