Improvements are coming to make a Richmond street safer for drivers and pedestrians. The city announced yesterday work will begin next month on an enhanced multi-modal project on Forest Hill Ave. It'll run from 34th Street to Semmes Avenue. Work will be done in two phases. New sidewalks, crosswalks and curb ramps will be installed in Phase One. Phase Two will include a new permanent traffic signal at 34th Street and Semmes Avenue. Construction is expected to be done by July 2025.

The first Black man to become president of an NFL team will soon be leaving the Washington Commanders. The Commanders confirmed yesterday that Jason Wright will have a senior advisory role with the team until he departs at the end of the year. He will mainly focus on a new naming rights deal and finding a location for a new stadium. Wright was hired in 2020 by former owner Dan Snyder and kept the job when an ownership group led by Josh Harris bought the team last year. The Commanders will begin a search for a new team president in the next few weeks.
