Virginia is awarding nearly 41-million dollars in grants to ten projects that will boost broadband access.Preview: The Boones Mill Police Department has introduced K9 Officer Rex, a Belgian Malinois certified in patrol, tracking, and narcotics. Rex and Chief Kelvin Pruett completed their training in July 2024 with K9 Working Dogs International, LLC. The K9 Program was made possible by various grants and donations, with plans to honor donors with a plaque at the Town Hall/Police Department. Donations for medical costs and upkeep of K9 Officer Rex can be made by contacting the Town of Boones Mill Police Department.
