Dominion Energy is blaming a snake for a power outage in Newport News. The outage was reported Saturday night and affected more than ten-thousand customers. All power was restored before midnight on Saturday. Dominion says a snake made contact with a transformer in the affected area, causing the outage.
Gasoline prices in Roanoke have increased by 3.8 cents per gallon, averaging $3.29 per gallon as of August 12th. GasBuddy reports that the least expensive station in Roanoke was priced at $2-94 per gallon, while the most expensive was $3-49. The national average price of gasoline decreased to $3-41, down 11.6 cents from a month ago and 42.5 cents lower than a year ago. Gas prices are expected to continue declining, barring any major disruptions like hurricanes or unexpected economic data.
