Fans attending some Prince William County Schools sporting events will be passing through weapons detectors. The school system is expanding their use beyond middle and high school buildings, so plan to pass through them at all varsity boys' basketball and football games this season. The Evolv scanners use AI and sensors to detect guns, knives and other weapons. None were brought into school buildings last year after the scanners were installed.  
 
 
A marketing firm that works with Facebook and Google admitted that the microphone on smart phones is always listening and can be used to place targeted advertising.

Tim Lawless, who is a cyber engineer at UTSA, says there are easy ways of turning this off. But, he says, you lose the convenience of voice-recognition. In a statement, a spokesperson for Facebook's parent company disputed the report, saying they do not "use your phone's microphone for ads."
