A new study from the University of Virginia reveals members of Gen X have had historically high levels of lead exposure. The study found people born between the late 1960s and mid-1980s have been exposed to lead due to car exhaust fumes. Leaded gas was widely used starting in the 1920s and remained in the air for decades later. Lead exposure is now known to have adverse effects on mental health and cognitive development. Exposure in early childhood can also disrupt brain development and lead to disorders like ADHD, depression, and anxiety.  
 
A cybersecurity breach at PowerSchool, a software company supporting school operations, has compromised student, parent, and teacher information across potentially 85 Virginia school divisions. NBC 12 reports that Fairfax County Public Schools, the largest school division in Virginia, confirmed it was not impacted as it does not use PowerSchool's student information system product
