Two drivers are in the hospital after a crash in Fairfax County that left their cars in very precarious positions. The two vehicles collided at the corner of Roberts Road and Collingham Drive in Kings Park West around 6:00 Wednesday evening. The crash left one car on its side and the second balanced against it with its rear in the air and nose in the ground. Technical rescue units had to be called in to stabilize the vehicles before the drivers could be freed.
The Virginia Zoo mermaid is getting a makeover. It will be the first time the statue will be touched up in nearly 15 years. The Norfolk mermaid statues are used to signify the city's symbol. Virginia Beach artist, Bob Langston, is the artist behind the zoo mermaid. He says he's inspired to redesign the mermaid through the animals that live at the Virginia Zoo.
