The family of a man hit and killed by a train in Suffolk Friday say they are devastated by their loss. Forty-four year-old Earl Wiggins was hit early Friday morning by a train passing through South Saratoga Street in Suffolk. Police say they recovered a bike at the scene of the crash. It's not clear if Wiggins was riding the bike at the time of the crash. His family says he mostly walked and riding a bike would have been rare for him. They have started a GoFundMe page to help cover funeral costs. Suffolk police are still investigating the incident.
A Loudoun County Public Schools teacher, Travis Jones, was arrested at Park View High School for being drunk during school hours. The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office reported that a school resource officer noticed Jones smelled like alcohol and arrested him shortly after. He had previously been arrested in December 2024 for DUI. 7News reports that Jones is a special education teacher assistant at Park View High School.
