A request to bring back the Something in the Water Festival has been denied by the Virginia Beach City Council. The festival had been scheduled to take place this April after being postponed from last October. But the city says they're holding firm to cancel the festival citing the need for other options for entertainment in the region. Virginia Beach native and artist Pharrell Williams is one of the festival's creators and has not commented on the event.
The CEO for UVA Health and Executive Vice President for Health Affairs says he's resigning. Craig Kent offered his resignation yesterday after a meeting with UVA's Board of Visitors. The University of Virginia had hired a law firm to investigate Kent for allegations of compromising patient safety, pressuring faculty, and bypassing patient safety concerns, as well as hiring unqualified doctors.
