A community in Norfolk will be getting their own block cameras to monitor crime. The Lochhaven community is set to receive two cameras at their neighborhood entrances. Their Homeowner's Association voted to install the cameras at the intersection of Hampton Boulevard and North Shore Road and the intersection of Hampton Boulevard and West Little Creek Road. Residents of the community will help fund the install.
A groundbreaking has been held for a new casino in Petersburg. The LIVE! Casino & Hotel is hoping to bring in an estimated 504-million-dollars in tax revenue once it's built. Officials also estimate it will bring 240-million-dollars to the city of Petersburg. The casino will have more than 450-thousand square feet dedicated to gaming, along with a hotel and restaurants.
