Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital is expanding its Crystal Spring Tower to accommodate more patients, with 54 new rooms, an isolation area, and expanded triage and pediatric bays. As the only Level One adult and trauma center in the region, the hospital serves patients from Southwest Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee, receiving over 88,000 patients annually. WSIS reports that the hospital sees an increase in patient volume and complexity, with over 50% of trauma cases coming from transfers from other facilities.
The Richmond Heart Ball has raised more than one-million for heart disease research and awareness. Nearly one-point-three-million was raised at the event at Main Street Station Saturday night. The ball was held in coordination with the American Heart Association and will help highlight the impact of heart disease for millions of Americans.
