One Lynchburg woman accused of attacking officers two years ago pleads guilty. Ashley Biggs-Neeley, has pleaded guilty to charges of attacking officers with knives on two separate occasions in 2023. The incidents occurred in May and September, with Neeley being shot by police in both instances after advancing on officers with knives. Neeley is scheduled to be sentenced in November.
The USDA issued a warning letter to Eastern Virginia Medical School for alleged violations in the handling of animals used in testing. The violations included mistreatment of chinchillas, and female olive baboons in 2023. WTKR reports that despite the violations, no sanctions were issued, but future violations could result in criminal penalties and sanctions.
