A Petersburg woman has been sentenced after attempting to sell meth outside a 7-Eleven in Richmond. Twenty-nine year-old Miranda Lynn Hubert was sentenced to five years in prison for distributing more than 140 grams of meth. Police say she also had outstanding warrants when she was taken into custody. Authorities say they found 84 grams of meth, a handgun, and a digital scale in her car.
Officials with Virginia Commonwealth University have broken ground on a new medical center. The Chesterfield Pavilion will be a four story, 100-thousand square foot facility with four operating rooms, two procedure rooms, and an ambulatory surgery center. The pavilion will also hold an area for the VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center. Construction on the facility is expected to start this fall.
