Governor Youngkin is promoting a new program to expand workforce development in Virginia. The governor stopped in Lynchburg yesterday for a bill signing ceremony to promote the "Virginia Works" program. Youngkin says the initiative will enable better communication between employers, educators and job seekers to create needed workforce training programs. The new law will also create more apprenticeships for younger Virginians looking for a career after leaving high school.
A former teacher in Chesapeake is facing child sexual abuse charges. WAVY-TV reports that Daniel Fleming is accused of being involved in solicitation of child sex abuse photos. Fleming is a former math teacher at a private school and was also reportedly involved in Youth Ministries at a Chesapeake church.

The agency says five riders have died on Virginia roadways in the past week and they want to encourage efforts to learn to ride safely. The course focuses on safe riding practices including negotiating curves, riding on interstates and handling hazards.
