A Christiansburg elementary school had to shelter in place this morning because of police activity. According to officials from Falling Branch Elementary, it was out of an abundance of caution that students and staff were kept inside of the building. There was no danger to the school, but details about a police investigation in the area haven't been released yet.  
 
 
A Haymarket man is facing charges after allegedly making a bomb threat at the Prince William County courthouse. Investigators say 30-year-old Ray Darnell Smith was arrested Thursday on charges of threats to bomb, obstruction of justice and being intoxicated in public. Smith reportedly entered the courthouse on Thursday afternoon and carried a bag into a public restroom. He allegedly called emergency dispatchers and made the threat before being found by police and arrested. The bag was examined and no bomb was found.  
 
 
Richmond residents are asked to provide feedback on a plan to make the streets safer. The city has an online survey about what it calls the High Injury Network. That's a group of roads that has the most significant accidents in the city. Officials say just nine percent of the city's streets are where 77 percent of severe injuries and deaths occur. The survey is available through Friday, and you can get more info at RVA-dot-gov.  
 
 
To address the lack of full-service grocery stores in certain areas, two Winchester residents are opening a community-owned food co-op. Rebecca Hughes explains.
