Newport News Police continue to investigate after a 15-year-old was shot and killed at a school bus stop Tuesday. WAVY-TV reports it happened around 6:30a.m. when the teen was waiting at the bus stop, he was a student at Menchville High School. He was taken to the hospital and died from his injuries. A witness told authorities there were at least five gunshots.

Schools across Frederick County closed today after alleged threats of school-related violence were posted online. The Frederick County Sheriff's Office says it raised concerns about the safety of students, parents, and school personnel. They say a preliminary investigation show the posts were made outside of Frederick County and outside Virginia. Frederick County schools say they're aware of the threat and are trying to determine its credibility. They've closed all schools, administrative offices and all school offices until tomorrow.

Norfolk City Council voted in favor of allowing Boyd Gaming to be involved in the city's casino plan. WAVY-TV reports that Councilwoman Andria McClellan was the lone "no" vote. The issue came to a vote after the Pamunkey Tribe announced that Boyd would take a majority stake in the ownership. The Las Vegas-based company is one of the largest gaming operators in the U.S.
