A Chesapeake man is headed to prison for his actions during the January 6 Capitol riot. Authorities say Antonio Lamotta traveled to D.C. and joined in the protest outside the Capitol building, reportedly urging other "patriots" to come on social media. In addition to the six month sentence, Lamotta will have to pay two-thousand dollars in restitution and serve one year of probation.

AD.C. law firm is threatening the state of Virginia with a lawsuit over the decision to allow presidential candidate Cornel West to appear on the November ballot. West was initially disqualified from the ballot due to issues with forms turned in by his campaign. That decision was reversed earlier this month after talks between the West campaign and state election officials. The law firm asked for quick action to remove West, since absentee ballots in Virginia must be printed no later than September 20th.
