Flooding continues to be a concern in Central Virginia. The National Weather Service has extended a Flood Warning for the James River at Cartersville, Richmond Locks and Richmond Westham. This'll affect Richmond, Henrico County, Chesterfield County, Powhatan County and Goochland County. The NWS expects moderate flooding. You're advised to be careful when walking near riverbanks, and drivers should not attempt to drive around barricades or through flooded areas.
Multiple state parks are fully or partially closed due to damage caused by heavy rain and flooding last weekend. The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation says nine state parks and four natural area preserves have been affected. Several of the closed areas plan to reopen before the middle of this month.
