Utility workers from Central Virginia will be helping Floridians get back on their feet after Hurricane Milton. Dominion Energy has about 400 employees who arrived in Florida yesterday to help restore power. They'll have their hands full. At one point this morning, the state had about three million power outages. A company spokesperson tells CBS 6 Dominion and its utility partners are all in this together.
The National Park Service says the Virginia portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway could reopen sometime next week. The park service issued an update about repair and reopening efforts for the Parkway yesterday. Officials called the damage in some parts of North Carolina "catastrophic" and could not give an estimate of how long repairs could take. The park service is also reminding the public that the current closure applies to all vehicles and uses, and any unauthorized entry will slow the work of reopening the Parkway.
