The Virginia State Police have arrested a Tappahannock man for a nearly 33-year-old crime in King and Queen County. Investigators began looking into the death of Jennie Lee Johnson after her body was found in November of 1991. Evidence collected during the investigation was recently retested and led to the arrest of 62-year-old Ives Fortune earlier this month. Fortune is expected to appear in King and Circuit Court for a hearing this morning.  
 
 
Fairfax County is inviting residents to apply for spots on its affordable housing waitlist. Eligible families can receive assistance to pay a portion of their rent if they move into designated units at locations in Falls Church, Alexandria and Fairfax. The application period will close on Sunday.

Fewer African American voters are supporting the Democratic ticket for president this year than in years past according to several recent polls. The N-double A-C-P survey found while most Black voters plan to support V-P Kamala Harris, Black men and younger Black voters are more likely to support former president Donald Trump.
