Trick-or-treaters are credited with alerting authorities to a fire in Chesterfield County. Chesterfield Fire and EMS says trick-or-treaters on Centralia Road last night saw the fire and called 9-1-1. The fire spread into the second floor and the attic. No one was hurt, but two people are displaced. There's no word on a cause.
A man is facing charges in northern Virginia for allegedly attacking a sleeping passenger on a United Airlines flight. Investigators say Everett Chad Nelson got up from his seat to go to the bathroom during Monday's flight from San Fransisco to Dulles International Airport. Witnesses say Nelson was returning to his seat when he stopped and began attacking a deaf, non-verbal passenger, leaving him bruised and bleeding. Nelson has been charged with assault and is due in court next month.
Despite a developer backing out of the Diamond District project, it's full speed ahead. That's what Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney said this week after Loop Capital withdrew from the development. No reason was given. Thalhimer Realty is the only developer remaining, but Mayor Stoney says they can handle it on their own. Thalhimer officials say they're still working with several other companies, and all are committed to the success of this project.
