A former state lawmaker will not serve any additional time behind bars after pleading guilty to drug and gun possession charges. Former Republican Delegate Matt Fariss entered his plea last week in Campbell County. Fariss was arrested in March after a bag of meth was found during a traffic stop. A hunting rifle was also found in his vehicle, leading to a charge of having a firearm while possessing an illegal drug. The judge overseeing the case suspended the former lawmaker's three-year sentence, allowing him to be released after spending nearly three weeks in jail.

Native Americans are keeping their culture alive for the next generation. The 31st annual Great American Indian Exposition and Pow-Wow was held at Richmond Raceway this weekend. Hundreds of people gathered to sing and dance and enjoy traditional food. Brenda Silver was there from North Carolina. She says it's like a big family reunion. Silva also tells CBS 6 it's very important to keep sharing the culture with their children and grandchildren but also those in the nonnative world.
