A woman has been arrested in southwest Virginia after she allegedly set another woman on fire over the weekend. The Wythe County Sheriff's Office says Savannah Renee has been charged with first-degree murder following the death of Tiffany Dunford. Deputies were called to a home in Max Meadows on Sunday after Dunford was reportedly doused with gasoline and then set on fire. Dunford died from her injuries yesterday. Investigators say the two women knew each other, though a motive for the crime was not disclosed.  
 
 
The Roanoke Foodshed Network was awared a grant in efforts to better support communities through local Agriculture.

Virginia's Republican attorney general will not be running for governor next year. Instead, Jason Miyares announced yesterday that he plans to run for re-election as attorney general. Miyares said he would not allow the state to return to "the failed policies of the past," adding "our families' safety and Virginia's future depends on it." Governor Youngkin endorsed the decision in a statement yesterday, calling Miyares an excellent attorney general who stands up for Virginians.  
 
 
Nonprofits, including local food banks, are facing challenges due to rising food costs and inflation, leading to a drop in donations. Feeding Southwest Virginia CEO Pamela Irvine tells WDBJ decreased donations has had a major impact on their ability to provide food to those in need. The trend of reduced donations started post-COVID and has worsened with the increasing costs of living and healthcare.
