Two Henrico County deputies may soon be free of charges in Irvo Otieno's death. A judge in Dinwiddie County has agreed to withdraw the charges against deputies Kaiyell Sanders and Brandon Rodgers. Dinwiddie Commonwealth's Attorney Amanda Mann requested the charges be dropped. She says after a previous suspect was found not guilty, it became clear Sanders and Rodgers were likely to also be acquitted. Mann tells CBS 6 she knows this is difficult news for Otieno's family and friends, and she sympathizes with them. Otieno died over a year ago at Central State Hospital while in the custody of Henrico County deputies.

Virginia voters are heading to the polls today to help decide the election for president. Polling places will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters who aren't registered can do so today and fill out a provisional ballot, though it won't be counted until election officials verify eligibility.

If you are choosing to cast a ballot today, it's time to make sure you know where you can vote in-person.

Some people speculate that the winner of the race between former President Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris may not be known for days. Each state handles its elections differently, and closing times for polls are staggered. While hand-counting paper ballots used to last into the overnight and early morning hours, technology was thought to be able to speed up the process. However, some officials say in areas with the most votes, typically urban areas, counting votes actually takes longer.
