Alexandria City High School classes are canceled today and tomorrow after recent altercations on campus. Administrators said the decision comes after several students were involved in fights yesterday, causing injuries to both students and staff. Superintendent Doctor Melanie Kay-Wyatt released a statement on the matter yesterday, saying she's disheartened and concerned. She added that support circles for students and staff will be held online, via Zoom, today and tomorrow.  
 
 
Over a dozen employees at a nursing home in Colonial Heights are facing criminal charges. Eighteen people who work at the Colonial Heights Rehabilitation and Nursing Center were arrested yesterday. The facility's director is one of those who was arrested. She's facing charges that include abuse and neglect of a vulnerable adult. Others are accused of falsifying records. Police are investigating the death of a 74-year-old female patient two months ago.

Some Virginians may be watching the U.S. Supreme Court as they will hear arguments over a law that would ban TikTok. The law that requires ByteDance to sell the popular video sharing app or be banned is set to go into effect on January 19th. The company is asking the Supreme Court to block the law while it appeal's a lower-court ruling that upheld it. Oral arguments are set for January 10th.
