Jury selection continues today in the trial of a 27-year-old Maryland man accused of trying to gun down his ex-girlfriend in Fairfax County. The attack came at the Mallard Court Apartments in the Mount Vernon area in February 2023 and the shooting was captured on surveillance video. The 25-year-old victim had been granted a protective order against her ex, Collins Agyei [[ uh-JEYE ]], only two days before. She was left with a limited ability to speak, but prosecutors are being allowed to use police body cam video where she appeared to ID Collins as her attacker right after being shot.

Short bursts of activity during the day can help heart health, especially for women. A new study published Tuesday in the British Journal of Sports Medicine found that for people who don't exercise, things like carrying groceries or climbing stairs can have an outsized impact on the risk of heart disease. Men who got around five and a half minutes of vigorous movement in a day saw a 16 percent decrease in the risk of heart problems. For women, however, those numbers were more than 50 percent.
