The letters allegedly targeted people receiving government benefits and told recipients to report to a Leesburg recreation center for job training. The training was reportedly for jobs that would become vacant due to federal deportation efforts. The letter also threatened IRS action against those who failed to report. The town released a statement on its website saying the letters were fake and should be ignored.
Authorities in Prince William County say a missing elderly man has been found dead. Police say the 69-year-old man from Haymarket was last seen by his family on Thursday. He was reported missing on Friday and was found dead later that day. Police do not suspect foul play in his death.
Two storms this week could bring large amounts of ice and snow to the Midwest and East. The first will hit the Midwest today, sending snow through the Ohio Valley and into Virginia to New England by tomorrow. Cities including Cincinnati, Washington, DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York City could all feel the impact. Another storm will bring as much as three inches of rain to Gulf Coast states, but areas further north could see snow.
