The Virginia Attorney General's Office says a "sophisticated cyberattack" forced a shutdown of all computer systems yesterday. The Washington Post reports that the attack happened around 6:45 a.m. State officials are confident that they caught the attack quickly enough to minimize any damage. The Virginia State Police and the FBI are investigating the attack.  
 
 
To reduce violent crime in Richmond, the city needs to give kids a different pathway, according to Mayor Dr. Danny Avula. The city experienced a spike in shootings and stabbings recently. In one case, a 15-year-old boy was shot in the East End. Avula says the city has worked with others to engage youth, especially those at higher risk for gun violence. Avula also tells CBS 6 he'll meet with police officials in the next few weeks to see what policy changes may be needed.
