A Danville police officer is in stable condition after being shot by a suspect. Police say the officer found a vehicle linked to a hit-and-run investigation yesterday and began talking to the suspect. The 47-year-old man allegedly pulled out a gun and shot the officer several times. The officer returned fire, wounding the suspect. Virginia State Police investigators are looking into the shooting.
