Fairfax County is launching a website to help laid-off federal workers find support and new employment. The website went online yesterday and gives tips on searching for a new job, starting a business, staying active in the community and getting financial and mental health assistance. The Fairfax County school system is also holding a job fair today that could offer a fresh start to federal workers interested in education. That event will be held at the Willow Oaks Administrative Building in Fairfax at 6 p.m.

The TSA says two guns were recently seized at security checkpoints at Reagan National Airport. A Virginia man was stopped last Friday with a loaded nine-millimeter handgun. Agents stopped a New Hampshire man on Sunday with another nine-millimeter handgun and a magazine with 15 bullets. Both guns were seized and criminal citations were issued to both men.
