Despite pleas from the governor, many people took to the roads in Central Virginia and paid the price. Virginia State Police reported 65 crashes in Central Virginia yesterday. Injuries were reported in six of them. Statewide, VSP reported almost 500 crashes with over 40 injuries. Governor Glenn Youngkin says it could have been worse, though, and he thanked those that did stay off the roads.
Be sure to check your flight status before heading to Richmond International Airport. At least five flights this morning are canceled after two dozen were canceled yesterday. There were also about four extended delays of an hour or more.
Authorities are investigating a homicide case in Roanoke.Preview: Secretary of Veterans Affairs Doug Collins revealed in an interview that the Biden administration's VA diverted resources from Veteran Care to assist illegal migrants in obtaining health care. Collins acknowledged that time was taken away from Veteran Care to process health applications for illegal immigrants, a practice he intends to stop. While illegal migrants were not receiving medical procedures from VA hospitals, Newsmax reports Collins confirmed that VA manpower was used to aid them, calling the situation a misdirection of resources. Collins, who was recently confirmed as VA secretary, criticized the department as a "broken" system that negatively impacts veterans.
