A first-term Lynchburg school board member will face the city council during a special meeting today about a photo-swapping incident. School Board Chairman Dr. Martin Day says board member Christian DePaul replaced a picture of former Superintendent Dr. Crystal Edwards with a photo of the character named "sloth" from the movie "The Goonies". He then put Interim Superintendent Dr. Ben Copeland's name on it - calling it a joke - and later apologizing to the board Tuesday.

The General Assembly is taking another step toward approving amendments to Virginia's two-year budget. The House of Delegates and the Senate each approved very similar budget amendment packages yesterday. Each chamber wants to offer Virginia taxpayers a 200-dollar rebate that would be paid later this year. Another amendment would increase the standard deduction on state tax returns. Negotiators from both chambers will now hammer out a final agreement that will be sent to the governor for consideration.  
 
 
Food safety experts are serving up some recommendations on how Virginians can keep their party guests safe while enjoying Super Bowl Sunday. Katie Gray reports.
