A Richmond school official is hurt after getting hit by a car. Richmond Police say it happened last night on Patterson Ave. Mary Munford Elementary School Principal Gregory Muzik was hit while riding his bike. He was taken to the hospital, but there's no word on his condition. Family members, though, tell CBS 6 his injuries are life-threatening.

Competitive Racing Investments has announced plans to hold races at Southside Speedway. The track has been closed since the pandemic. Board of Supervisors Chair Jim Ingle says the speedway is important to residents as a historic venue that has helped shape the careers of many racing greats. The track will need about two-and-a-half million dollars in upgrades before it can reopen. The project manager tells 12 On Your Side "we have a lot of work ahead of us."
Changes are coming to the food supply in Virginia. Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the new health secretary, is prioritizing the removal of artificial dyes and unsafe additives from the U.S. food supply. He directed the FDA to close a loophole that allows companies to self-regulate new ingredients. TFPP Wire reports RFK Jr.’s crackdown on artificial food additives is long overdue, as many studies of these chemicals have been linked them to health issues for years.
