A person of interest is being named in the case of a missing University of Pittsburgh student. Loudoun County Sheriff Michael Chapman says new video shows Sudiksha Konanki and two other men, including previously questioned 24-year-old Joshua Riibe from Iowa, walking to the beach in an upscale Punta Cana resort in the Dominican Republic.Preview: Konanki's family is from Virginia and Chapman says he's spoken to her family.Preview: Konanki was on a spring break vacation in the country when she was reported missing earlier this month. She was last seen on March 6th. Her dissapearance is currently considered a missing person case and has not been deemed criminal at this time.
A witness recalls the crash that left a Richmond school principal in the hospital. The 911 caller who first reported the crash says the SUV rear-ended Mary Munford Elementary School Principal Gregory Muzik's bike after he veered slightly out of the bike lane Tuesday. The caller tells 8News they didn't know at first if Muzik was alive because he hit the ground pretty hard. Muzik's injuries are life-threatening, but police say he has stabilized since the crash. The RPD also says the SUV driver stayed at the scene, and no charges have been announced.
Richmond has a new program that could lower your transportation costs. The city announced yesterday it recently launched an Equity Zone Program that reduces transportation fees for those in five neighborhoods. The equity zone neighborhoods are Fairfield Court, Gilpin Court, Hillside Court, Mosby Court and Whitcomb Court. Residents in those neighborhoods can get a 50 percent discount on all scooter rides. Richmond says this is part of its partnership with its micro-mobility vendors to increase accessibility and reduce transportation barriers in underserved neighborhoods.
