The former sheriff of Culpeper County has been sentenced to ten years in prison. The Department of Justice announced the sentence for former Sheriff Scott Howard Jenkins on Friday. Investigators say Jenkins accepted over 75-thousand dollars from several northern Virginia businessmen in exchange for appointing them auxiliary deputy sheriffs. He was convicted in December on federal charges including conspiracy, fraud and bribery.  
 
 
Some Richmond residents may be better equipped to achieve their dream of homeownership. The Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America, or NACA, held its Achieve the Dream workshop this weekend. Those looking to be first-time home buyers attended the three-day event at Virginia Union University. NACA's CEO tells 8News the workshop offers a game-changing solution for people and families to obtain affordable homeownership without the obstacles that often block their path.  
 
 
While Gen Z is currently feeling the financial squeeze they are on track to be the wealthiest generation by 2035. A new report from Bank of America predicts that Gen Z will be the wealthiest generation in history within the next ten years. The two largest drivers in Gen Z's economic rise are wage growth and the "Great Wealth Transfer." It is estimated by 2045 around 84-million-dollars will be passed down from seniors and baby boomers to Gen X, millennials and Gen Z, with Gen Z taking 38-percent of that inheritance.
