Richmond's mayor wants to devote more money to address the housing crisis. Mayor Danny Avula met yesterday with members of RISC. It stands for Richmonders Involved to Strengthen Communities. They asked Avula to commit to putting 13 million dollars into an affordable housing trust fund, and he did. Pastor Ralph Hodge tells CBS 6 he believes resolving the housing crisis can reduce crime, like gun violence.  
 
 
A company set to expand in Botetourt County and in turn adding hundreds of jobs in the area.

A company that operates a unique facility in Chesterfield County is going through bankruptcy. Plenty Unlimited, Inc. filed for Chapter 11 this week. This comes less than three years after it spent 300 million dollars on what it calls the world's largest indoor vertical farming campus in Chesterfield County. The company says the facility in Meadowville Technology Park will continue to stay open. It currently grows strawberries, but the company has said they hope to add greens and tomatoes at some point.  
 
 
Today is what's known as Equal Pay Day. It signifies how far into the new year women employed full-time have to work to earn what their male counterparts made on average in the year prior. According to a breakdown of Census Bureau data by the National Women's Law Center, women in America currently earn 83 cents for every dollar men are paid.
