A man is facing charges after allegedly abducting his nephew from a gas station in Manassas. Police were called to a business Wednesday after the suspect drove away with a six-year-old boy in the car. The car was found a short time later, though police reportedly had to stun the suspect to take him into custody. Officers arrested Devon Lamont Pinckney on charges including abduction, grand larceny and possession of a firearm by a felon.  
 
 
A church in Salem is taking action to stop bullying by holding a town hall meeting in the communty.

Richmond's commitment to education is being questioned. Mayor Danny Avula released his proposed FY 2026 balanced budget yesterday. It includes almost ten million dollars in new funding for Richmond Public Schools, but School Board Chair Shavonda Fernandez says that's not enough. She says the district's credit score has gone up while its absentee rate has gone down dramatically. Fernandez tells 8News if that doesn't show it's important for us to invest in our children, she doesn't know what does.  
 
 
Attorney General Jason Miyares says some Virginians may be eligible for compensation thanks to a proposed settlement with a generic drug maker. Miyares announced yesterday that Virginia and several other states have filed for preliminary approval for a settlement with New Jersey-based Apotex.
