A teen is facing charges after a weekend pursuit and crash that left multiple people injured. Virginia State Police troopers began chasing a 17-year-old driver on Interstate 66 in Fairfax County on Saturday. The teen from Maryland was eventually stopped after turning into a cul-de-sac off Route 50. Four people had to be treated for injuries following the pursuit. The unidentified teen currently faces charges of eluding, driving without a license and reckless driving.

Democratic Congressman Eugene Vindman introduced a bill last week that would require each state to create a policy to keep students from using phones during their classes. The UNPLUGGED Act is modeled after policies already adopted in Virginia and other states. The bill currently has no co-sponsors, though Vindman expects the measure to draw bipartisan support.
The cost of raising children in the U.S. is on the rise. A new study estimates it costs nearly 300-thousand dollars to raise a child from birth to the age of 18 in 2025, a 25-percent jump from 2023's projections. The Department of Health considers child care affordable if it takes less than seven-percent of a family's income, but there are currently no states where the average cost of child care is within that threshold for median-income families.
