U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is criticizing Albemarle County's Commonwealth's Attorney following an arrest last week. Federal agents arrested two men at the county courthouse last Tuesday, leading to protests and demands for an explanation. A statement released by the agency over the weekend called the arrests "lawful" and blasted the Commonwealth's Attorney for saying he would investigate. The statement also promises the prosecution of two bystanders who allegedly tried to interfere with the arrests.
A survey from the Virginia Department of Health shows that Henrico Doctors' Hospital had failed to prevent abuse of premature babies. It was just in 2023 when the hospital was accused of failing to report the abuse of four babies. The health department's findings reveal that Henrico Doctors' Hospital hasn't taken any preventative actions since then. The hospital did add cameras in patient rooms, but VDH says they were never reviewed.
