A member of the Fairfax County school board is dismissing claims that he embezzled thousands of dollars from a local business. Kyle McDaniel has been sued by Blue Label Aviation, a flight school headquartered in Manassas. The lawsuit accuses McDaniel of improperly using company credit cards to charge personal expenses even after he was dismissed as secretary and treasurer. McDaniel calls the lawsuit an ongoing business dispute and said he remains focused on his work on the school board.
Republican Winsome Earle-Sears and Democrat Abigail Spanberger will face each other in this fall's race for governor. The Virginia Republican Party announced Saturday that Earle-Sears would lead their ticket after no other candidate turned in enough petition signatures. Spanberger was announced as the Democratic candidate last week. It will be the first Virginia governor's race to feature two women, and Earle-Sears could also become the first Black woman to be elected governor in the state.

The rapper's daughter Hailie Jade Scott, 29, and her husband Evan McClintock shared on Instagram that they have welcomed their first baby. The social media post also revealed the bay boy's name. The newborn was posed next to a sign that read, "Elliot Marshall McClintock 03.14.25." The baby's middle name comes from Jade's rapper father, whose real name is Marshall Mathers.
