A man is dead after being hit by an ambulance in Loudoun County. First responders were called to an area on Route Seven near the Loudoun County Parkway interchange around 9:45 Friday night. Investigators say 39-year-old Michael James Singer of Ashburn was walking in the area when he was hit by a Loudoun County ambulance. The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash.

The Food and Drug Administration has approved three new food dyes from natural sources. The three dyes are Galdieria extract blue, butterfly pea flower extract and calcium phosphate. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has made eliminating petroleum-based dyes in the U.S. a priority in his Make America Healthy Again initiative. Artificial food dyes are being hit with new restrictions or bans at the federal level and in more than half the states, including Virginia.
