An Arlington County police officer is recovering after being hit by a vehicle over the weekend. Police say two officers were making a traffic stop on South Eads Street early Saturday morning when a passing car hit one of the officers. The unidentified officer was taken to the hospital in serious condition. Investigators located the car on Saturday afternoon. Twenty-four-year-old Anthony Aquice has been charged with felony hit-and-run and is being held without bond.
Virginia's attorney general is looking into price gouging claims tied to the Richmond water crisis. Jason Miyares announced yesterday he has filed a petition to compel Manchester Market to comply with a Civil Investigative Demand issued as part of the investigation. He says he received credible complaints the company took advantage of residents' vulnerability by hiking prices on bottled water. Miyares says he asked the company to voluntarily hand over information tied to the complaints, but they failed to do so. He's asking a court to order the company to produce all documents and information related to the investigation.
