Thousands of Appalachian Power customers in central and southwest Virginia are still without power after severe weekend storms. The utility says the high winds and heavy rain damaged distribution equipment and power lines on Sunday. Additional help has been brought in from other states to help with restoration efforts. Just over five-thousand customers were without power last night, with Giles and Pulaski counties accounting for the most outages in Virginia.

Bette Nash died May 17th at the age of 88 after contracting breast cancer. She started her career with Eastern Airlines in 1957 and moved to American during a merger in 1990. Nash was a familiar face for travelers on flights between Reagan National and New York and Boston over her nearly seven decades of service.
Rick Ross is showing off the prize for the winner of his car show. On Saturday, he shared a video online showing a 37 carat VVS diamond car key worth 130-thousand dollars, which he's handing out at his event later this week. Ross' annual car show is taking place this Saturday on June 1st at his Promise Land in Fayetteville, Georgia.
