A York County judge has dismissed a lawsuit challenging transgender policies adopted by the Virginia Department of Education. The ACLU of Virginia filed the lawsuit on behalf of a York County student who allegedly faced discrimination in her school. The judge dismissed the case on Monday after finding the lawsuit is barred by both the statute of limitations and sovereign immunity. Governor Youngkin and Attorney General Jason Miyeres both celebrated the decision as a win for ensuring privacy, dignity and respect for all students.

A man who helped start an addiction recovery program in Chesterfield County is, in his words, blown away by the results. Swedish trauma consultant Ulf Sandstrom helped the Chesterfield County Jail develop the HARP program, Helping Addicts Recover Progressively. Sandstrom has been teaching inmates, virtually, to use tapping or Havening, to treat trauma, but he dropped by this month to see the program in person. His visit comes after visits by Senator Mark Warner and musician Jelly Roll, who both praised the program. Sandstrom says the program is a strong glimmer of hope, and he tells CBS 6 we need to bottle this and give it to the nation.  
 
 
Prime Day 2024 is in its final day. The two-day Amazon Prime sales event boasts numerous deals offered by the retail giant. Adobe Analytics estimates consumers will spend around 14-billion dollars this year, a more-than-ten-percent increase from 2023.
